These clear polypropylene rice shapers are part of Akebono Sangyo's Magic series and are designed to shape cooked rice into neat, even portions without using a traditional bamboo rolling mat (makisu).
Rice and any fillings are placed inside the shaper and pressed into shape. The clear design lets you check the result as you press, and the shape releases cleanly for easy cleanup.
This shaper is offered in several types for different uses, including sushi rolls (futomaki and hosomaki), nigiri sushi, and makunouchi style bento rice.
Made in Japan.
