This is a peeler-style blade for pulling skins off daikon radish, carrots, potatoes, and lotus root. The handle is natural wood.
For large root vegetables, cut them to a manageable length first, then press the piece firmly against a flat part of the cutting board and pull the blade slowly toward you. Take extra care with short pieces or small vegetables. If you hold the vegetable in your hand instead, pull the blade straight and slowly toward you; pulling at an angle or sideways is dangerous.
The blade itself is sharp, so never touch the cutting edge. Keep the tool out of direct sunlight and away from high heat, and store it out of the reach of children. It is intended for peeling vegetables only and should not be used for other purposes.
Overall length is 180 mm (7.1 in) with a blade width of 45 mm (1.8 in). It is made in Japan.
