This steaming cloth is designed for making manju (Japanese steamed buns) or mochi (pounded rice cakes) at home. Lay it in your steamer basket before adding the dough or rice so the food does not touch the steamer directly, then use it to help lift the finished food out once cooking is done.
For mochi, the cloth also helps hold the rice in place as it steams, letting moisture pass through evenly for consistent cooking.
Made in Japan and sized for standard home kitchen steamers. Offered in two types, Manju (in thin or thick weight) and Mochi (in small, large, or extra large size), so you can choose the cloth that matches your steamer and the amount you are cooking.
