This Akebono Sangyo teapot is a clear, side handle kyusu style shaped for an easy, comfortable pour. The body is made of lightweight, shatterproof copolyester resin (a saturated polyester) that is transparent like glass, letting you see how well the tea has brewed, and the spout is designed to pour cleanly without dripping down the side.
Each teapot includes a strainer that keeps tea leaves out of your cup while letting them float and unfurl freely inside the pot. Depending on the strainer type you choose, it is held in place with a clip on frame, a fine stainless steel mesh, a polyester mesh frame, or a built in resin strainer molded into the pot itself.
Akebono Sangyo, based in Tsubame, Niigata Prefecture, plans and manufactures its own line of plastic kitchenware, including popular microwave safe cookware, with a focus on in house quality and safety control.
This teapot is offered in two sizes and four strainer types: clip mesh, stainless steel mesh, polyester mesh, and a built in strainer.
