This knife belongs to the IMONO series, resin cutlery with the look and presence of cast metal. It is made in Japan by Akebono Sangyo, a plastics manufacturer that chose PPS resin for its metal-like hardness. The material feels gentle in the hand and does not feel cold.
The company makes its molds in-house and finishes each piece carefully by hand. The knife has a double-bevel edge, which is difficult to produce in metal, and it cuts with a sharpness you would not expect from resin.
