Akebono Magic Rice Paddle Shamoji 60cm Black BL-787

This bold, oversized rice paddle (shamoji) is about 60 cm (23.6 in) long and belongs to Akebono Sangyo's BL series, designed to stand out with strong visual impact. Its black color is meant to make the white of cooked rice look even brighter, and it can also double as a striking piece of kitchen decor.

The paddle has a double emboss finish that keeps rice from sticking, so it releases cleanly when serving. It is made of polypropylene, heat resistant to 120°C and cold resistant to -20°C, and weighs about 299 g (10.5 oz).

It is made in Japan by Akebono Sangyo, based in Tsubame, Niigata.
