Akebono Mainichi Tsukaitai Standing Bento Rice Paddle Red CH-2131

This standing rice paddle is part of the Mainichi Tsukaitai, or Everyday Use, series by Akebono Sangyo, a kitchenware maker based in Tsubame, Niigata. It is sized for everyday bento boxes.

A double emboss pattern, large bumps overlaid with a finer texture, keeps rice from sticking to the paddle, and a pointed tip helps pack rice into the corners of a bento box. The paddle stands upright on its own for more hygienic storage between uses, and it is dishwasher safe.

It measures 171 x 49 x 37 mm (6.7 x 1.9 x 1.5 in) and weighs 40 g (1.4 oz / 0.09 lb).
