This microwave dashi maker lets you prepare flavorful Japanese soup stock from bonito flakes, kombu or dried sardines quickly in the microwave.
Place kombu cut into 4 cm (1.6 in) squares in the strainer basket and add bonito flakes on top. Set the basket in the container filled with water and heat in the microwave. After heating, lift the basket, turn it 45 degrees to rest it on the container and let it drip. Your dashi is ready.
