The Akebono Mochisura 1-2-3 is a slicer for cutting block-style mochi (rice cakes) into thin slices, with an adjustable thickness plate for slices of 1, 2, or 3 mm (up to about 0.1 in). To use it, set the thickness plate in the slicer, place a block of mochi in the holder, fit the holder into the slicer, and press the holder down to slice the mochi. A cutting mold is included so the sliced mochi can also be cut into shapes.
The body is ABS resin rated for use from -30°C to 80°C, with a stainless steel blade, spring, and screws. It measures about 20 x 6.5 x 4.2 cm (7.9 x 2.6 x 1.7 in) and weighs about 147 g (5.2 oz).
