This rice paddle from Akebono Sangyo has a spoon shaped scooping end that lifts rice gently and keeps it light and fluffy. The shape also makes it useful for serving risotto, porridge, or soup, not just rice.
The scooping surface uses a double emboss finish, large ridges topped with finer ridges, which reduces contact with the rice and helps keep it from sticking to the paddle.
A small ridge on the back lifts the paddle up off the counter when it is set down, so the scooping end stays clean between uses. It is made of polypropylene and made in Japan.
