This yogurt strainer from Akebono Sangyo makes thick strained yogurt in about one hour instead of overnight. No paper filter is needed, and the finished yogurt comes out in a shape that is easy to cut like a cake.
To use, put yogurt in the inner container and place the press part on top. Press down the lid with the spring attached, snap it shut and wait one hour. The spring pressure speeds up draining for rich, dense yogurt.
It measures 14.3 x 14 x 14 cm (5.6 x 5.5 x 5.5 in) and weighs 387 g (13.7 oz / 0.85 lb). Akebono Sangyo, based in Tsubame, Niigata, makes practical plastic kitchenware in-house. Made in Japan.
