These Gurumen chopsticks from Akebono Sangyo are designed to grip noodles and other food as securely as a disposable waribashi, without the slipping common to smooth lacquered chopsticks. Five grooves run along the body to hold food firmly, and a star shaped tip adds extra edges for lifting ramen, udon, and soba out of a pot or serving bowl.
The handle is shaped as a pentagon that fits comfortably against the thumb, index, and middle fingers for a secure grip. They are made of polystyrene (SPS) that withstands heat up to 200°C and cold down to -20°C.
They are dishwasher safe and made in Japan.
