The Akebono Sangyo Mochisura is a slicer for cutting block style mochi (rice cakes) into thin, even slices. Place a block of mochi in the holder, fit the holder into the slicer, and press down to slice the mochi. A shape cutter is included so the sliced mochi can also be cut into shapes before toasting, making it easy to prepare puffed mochi snacks at home.
The body is made from ABS resin rated for use from -30C to 80C, with a stainless steel blade, spring, and screws for durable everyday use.
This listing offers two versions: a standard slicer with a fixed cutting thickness, and a model with an adjustable thickness plate for slices of 1, 2, or 3 mm.
Akebono Sangyo is a kitchenware maker based in Tsubame, Niigata, Japan, specializing in plastic kitchen tools that solve small everyday inconveniences, including popular microwave cookware. The company manages its own in-house production to maintain quality and safety. Made in Japan.
