This nori seaweed shredder comes with a container that catches the shredded seaweed as it is cut. Set a sheet of nori in place and turn the handle, and it shreds the nori in moments.
The blade is not made of metal, so it is safe for children to help with, and the shredder can be taken apart easily afterward so every part can be washed. It accepts a half-cut sheet of nori at a time.
It is made in Japan by Akebono Sangyo, a manufacturer based in Tsubame, Niigata, known for plastic kitchen goods that solve small everyday inconveniences, including popular microwave cookware, with its own in-house production supporting quality and safety. The shredder measures about 156 x 70 x 100 mm (3.9 in tall) and weighs about 231 g (8.1 oz / 0.51 lb).
