We offer the Akebono Swing rice paddle (shamoji), a playful design with a stainless steel weight built into its base cap. Set it down and it rocks back upright instead of tipping over or resting its scoop on the counter.
The scoop has a double embossed surface on both sides, which helps keep cooked rice from sticking as you serve it. The body is molded from polypropylene, which stands up well to both hot rice and cold storage.
Akebono Sangyo, based in Tsubame, Niigata, designs and manufactures its own plastic kitchen tools in house, with a focus on practical ideas for everyday cooking, including microwave safe cookware. Made in Japan.
This paddle is available in five colors: Black, Green, Orange, Pink, and White.
