Arnest Pin Tongs Secure Grip Stainless Steel

These pin tongs are made by craftspeople in the Tsubame-Sanjo area of Niigata Prefecture, known for cutlery and metalwork. Both sides of the thin, long tip are specially shaped to add spring tension, so the tips meet precisely and can pick up even a single grain of rice.

At 19.5 cm (7.7 in) long, they rest comfortably in the hand, like a long pair of chopsticks. They work well for food that chopsticks have trouble with, such as items in narrow-necked jars or thin, delicate pieces that need pinpoint placement when plating. Because they are about the size of chopsticks, they take up little room on the table, and the tip stays raised when set down directly on a surface, so they will not soil a tablecloth.

The stainless steel is heat resistant, durable, and corrosion resistant, so the tongs also work as cooking tongs for shabu-shabu, deep frying, or handling raw meat. The one-piece design has no seams where water or food residue can collect, and they are an easy size to fit in a dishwasher.
