The Benriner Turning Slicer, known in Japan as the Saimenki, turns daikon, carrot, cucumber, potato and other firm vegetables into long continuous sheets or spiral noodle like strands. Fix the vegetable between the crank and the blade, turn the handle, and it feeds through in one long cut.
Use the straight blade for thin, wide sheets, or switch to one of the comb blades for spiral strands in fine, medium or coarse thickness. The comb blades also fit the Benriner Cook Help, so one blade works across both tools. This is the classic tool Japanese restaurants use for garnishes such as daikon tsuma for sashimi.
Blades are stainless steel and made in Japan, and the straight blade comes with its two mounting screws.
