Benriner Turning Slicer (Saimenki), Horizontal Spiral Vegetable Slicer, Light Green, Made in Japan

The Benriner Turning Slicer (Saimenki in Japanese) turns vegetables into long continuous sheets and spiral strands. Fix a daikon, carrot, cucumber or potato between the crank and the blade, turn the handle, and the vegetable is cut into one long sheet or noodle-like strands.

Use the straight blade for thin sheets, or attach one of the three comb blades for spiral strands of different thickness. It is the classic tool Japanese restaurants use for garnishes such as daikon tsuma for sashimi.
