These are the individual hinoki (Japanese cypress) wood components for a Chinese-style wood steamer system, known as chuka seiro. Each component, the body, the lid, and the base ring, is sold separately so you can buy exactly the part you need, replace a worn piece, or build up a full stacked steamer set over time.
The body is the basket section that holds your food and can be stacked in multiple tiers for steaming several dishes at once. The lid sits on top of the body to hold in steam while cooking. The base ring sits underneath the body, between the basket and your wok or pot, to raise the stack above the water line and give it a stable base.
Because these parts are sold separately, please match the part and size you choose with a compatible part of the same nominal size from this series.
Hinoki is a natural wood, so slight variation in color and grain, along with minor surface marks, can occur from piece to piece; this is normal and does not affect quality or performance. Made in Japan. Choose from the Body, Lid, or Base Ring, in sizes ranging from 27 cm to 48 cm.
