This kitchen sponge is made with Sherpa EX, a material formed entirely from scallop shells sourced in Aomori Prefecture, Japan. It combines a nylon nonwoven fabric layer with a polyurethane foam layer for washing dishes, pots, and other kitchen items.
The sponge measures about 11 x 6.2 x 3.8 cm (4.3 x 2.4 x 1.5 in) and weighs about 9 g (0.3 oz), a compact size for everyday use at the sink.
