This small plate is part of Hakusan Porcelain's popular Bloom Wreath series, made in Hasami ware, Japan. Each piece is finished with hand-painted blue flowers on white porcelain, a design with a Scandinavian feel that suits many table settings.
Size SS is the smallest plate in the five-size Bloom lineup, measuring 11 x 11 cm (4.3 x 4.3 in) and weighing 90 g (3.2 oz). It works well as a single-serving plate for a side dish, a dessert or a bit of fruit, and it also makes a good dish for soy sauce or dipping sauce.
