Asa no Ito is a series from Hakusan Porcelain with fine lines engraved around the rim, each color carefully dyed by hand. The delicate color sits against a white porcelain base, giving a texture reminiscent of woven linen thread.
This medium plate in the Sepia colorway measures about 18.5 cm (7.3 in) across, a size that is neither too large nor too small for everyday use. The rim has a slight upward curve, enough to hold a little sauce or liquid, and the design suits many kinds of dishes.
The plate is dishwasher and microwave safe and is made in Hasami, Japan.
