This rectangular plate from Hakusan Porcelain is the middle size of three in the series, finished in white porcelain. Its simple square shape has a gentle curve added at the edges, which highlights the arrangement of food, and a delicate relief inspired by leaf veins gives it a subtle accent.
Made in Japan, it measures 20 x 15.5 cm (7.9 x 6.1 in) and weighs 390 g (13.8 oz / 0.86 lb). This size suits sashimi or sushi for about one to two people, and it also works well for skewered dishes or tempura, and suits many styles of food beyond Japanese cooking.
The series comes in three sizes, so the smaller plate can be used alongside it as an individual side plate.
