This yukihira style pot comes from Hokuriku Aluminum's Ajigokoro series, made in Japan. The body is aluminum with a hammered (tsuchime) texture and a sulfuric acid anodized surface, fitted with a natural wood handle.
On the pot and lid pieces, the interior wall carries volume markings, making it easy to measure liquid while cooking. The metal fitting that attaches the wood handle is made longer than on standard pots, keeping the handle farther from the flame and helping prevent scorching over time.
Lids and replacement wood handles sized to match are offered alongside the pots, so a well loved piece can keep going without replacing the whole set.
