These chopsticks are from Hyozaemon's Hobashira series, with a simple, lasting design featuring a carved pattern on the head finished with natural lacquer.
Hyozaemon's dishwasher-safe chopsticks are finished with additive-free lacquer and are recommended for dishwasher use. A manufacturing method developed by Hyozaemon gives the tip a smooth, rubbed-lacquer (suri-urushi) texture, different from the baked-lacquer tip used on some chopsticks. Most dishwasher-safe chopsticks on the market prioritize resistance to boiling water and coat the tip in synthetic paint, but Hyozaemon uses additive-free natural lacquer instead.
