These Hyozaemon chopsticks feature the Hori Yonjo design, with grooves carved into all four sides so the sumi-urushi base coat and the lacquer finish create a rich, contrasting texture.
They belong to Hyozaemon's dishwasher-safe line, finished with non-additive lacquer and recommended for dishwasher use. A proprietary process gives them a smooth, rubbed-lacquer finish that differs from lacquer-dried-tip chopsticks.
The tips are coated with natural lacquer, and Hyozaemon offers re-lacquering and repair so the chopsticks can be used for many years. This pair measures 21.5 cm (8.5 in) in length.
