These chopsticks have a slim, tapered form that narrows gracefully toward the tip, accented with a heart shaped mother of pearl (raden) inlay. Raden is made by cutting the lustrous inner layer of shell into thin pieces, setting them into the chopstick, then coating with lacquer and polishing to reveal the pattern.
The chopsticks are made of natural wood, with the tips finished in natural lacquer and the handles coated in urethane. This is the red, medium size, measuring 21.5 cm (8.5 in). Made in Japan.
