These chopsticks are made from black cherry wood, valued for its delicate grain and faint reddish tone. Beeswax is worked into the wood to bring out the natural grain and texture, so the color and pattern vary slightly from one pair to the next.
The tips are finished with natural lacquer. Hyozaemon, the maker, also offers relacquering and repair service, so the chopsticks can be used for many years. Made in Japan.
