This pair of chopsticks is part of the KIHADA series and is made from kumea wood, which has a hardness and weight comparable to ebony and an elegant feel. The wood is finished by rubbing in beeswax to bring out its natural grain and texture, so the color and pattern vary slightly from pair to pair. It measures 23 cm (9.1 in) long.
The tips are coated with natural lacquer. Hyozaemon offers relacquering and repair service so the chopsticks can stay in use for many years, part of the maker's approach to sustainability (SDGs).
