This pair of chopsticks is part of the KIHADA series and is made from tamo wood (Japanese ash), known for its soft white tone and attractive grain. The wood is finished by rubbing in beeswax to bring out its natural grain and texture, so the color and pattern vary slightly from pair to pair. It measures 23 cm (9.1 in) long.
The tips are coated with natural lacquer. Hyozaemon offers relacquering and repair service so the chopsticks can stay in use for many years, part of the maker's approach to sustainability (SDGs).
