These chopsticks are from Hyozaemon's Sakurasou series, featuring gold and silver decoration for an elegant look. The tip has a square shape that makes it easy to pick up food.
The head of each chopstick is shaped round rather than finished with just a small dab of lacquer at the end. This rounded shape lets lacquer be applied in one continuous coat from the grip to the tip, so the lacquer is less likely to peel off with use.
This is the Red, Medium size, measuring 21.5 cm (8.5 in). Hyozaemon offers lacquer touch-up and repair service so the chopsticks can be used for many years. Made in Japan.
