The tips of these chopsticks are shaped into a square, faceted point known as sakikaku, a form that makes it easy to pick up food.
Each pair is shaped by a craftsman drawing on years of experience, so the fine handwork shows in the finished shape. The style pairs well with designs that highlight the natural look of the wood grain.
The tips are coated with natural lacquer, and Hyozaemon offers re-lacquering and repair so the chopsticks can be used for many years. This pair measures 21.5 cm (8.5 in) in length.
