Kanoh Gentle Colors Miso Soup Bowl Ruri Blue & Uguisu Green

Please note: The photo shows the whole seven color series of single bowls. This listing is for a set of two bowls, Ruri Blue and Uguisu Green.

This soup bowl from Kano's Yasashii Irodori (Gentle Coloring) series is made of resin finished to look and feel like the grain of natural wood. It is lighter and more resistant to cracking than a pottery bowl, and its surface stays cooler to the touch when filled with something hot.

The surface finish uses the Yamanaka lacquering technique traditionally practiced in the Yamanaka Onsen area of Kaga, Ishikawa, applied here to a resin base, giving the bowl a soft, traditional Japanese coloring in Ruri blue and Uguisu green.

The bowl drains water easily and dries quickly after washing. At 10.8 x 10.8 x 7 cm (4.3 x 4.3 x 2.8 in), it is sized to sit comfortably in both hands and works well for miso soup, other soups, or ozoni. Bowls can be nested and stacked for compact storage in a cupboard.
