This cutting board is made from hinoki (Japanese cypress) sourced from the Urakiso region and finished using only straight-grain (masame) wood.
The natural softness of the wood is gentle on knife blades and gives a comfortable feel when cutting, and the 2.5 cm (1 in) thickness lets you chop food smoothly.
Because only straight-grain wood is used, the board also resists warping over time. It measures 41 x 23 x 2.5 cm (16.1 x 9.1 x 1 in) and is made in Japan.
