Kyoto Katsugu Mosquito Net Dish Towel Kaya Fukin

This dishcloth is sewn from eight layers of Nara-style kaya gauze fabric. Cotton is used for the warp threads and rayon for the weft, giving the cloth a soft, cottony feel along with the fast water absorption that rayon provides.

Before first use, wash the cloth in warm water at about 40°C (104°F) to remove the starch sizing, which is made from sweet potato starch. Do not put the cloth in a dryer, and note that it may shrink by about 10% after washing.

The cloth measures about 33 x 30 cm (13 x 11.8 in) and is made in Japan.
