This Kyoto Katsugu donabe, a traditional Japanese clay cooking pot, is made from petalite ceramic and is JIS standard certified to withstand temperature changes of 350 degrees Celsius or more without cracking. It is manufactured to comply with Japan's Food Sanitation Act.
The pot retains heat well, holds warmth for a long time, and uses a far infrared effect to spread heat evenly through food. Deep carving and clear coloring on the surface add visual interest to the table.
A ceramic coating is applied at the factory, so the pot is ready to use as soon as it arrives and resists sticking, which makes cleanup easier.
This donabe is available in three sizes, No. 6, No. 8, and No. 9, to suit different serving needs.
