Okumura Mino Hinoki Cutting Board Lightweight Thin L 42x24cm

This cutting board is made from Tono hinoki, one of Japan's three noted hinoki (Japanese cypress) varieties, from the Ura-Kiso region. It is lightweight and thin, so it is easy to pick up for everyday use. The board uses only straight-grain wood, which resists warping and gives it an even, attractive grain; it is made from multiple pieces joined together rather than a single piece of wood.

Before first use, wet both sides evenly with water. After use, wash with water or hot water and dry in the shade. Avoid long soaking, which can cause dark spots or cracking, and do not use an electric dish dryer or microwave with this board.

As a natural wood product, slight warping or cracking may occur, and hinoki oil or resin may appear on the surface; both are natural, harmless, and signs of healthy wood. The board measures about 42 x 24 x 1.5 cm (16.5 x 9.4 x 0.6 in) and is made in Japan.
