Shimizu Mokuzai Mini Ohitsu Rice Container 14.5cm 1 Cup Copper Hoops

This mini ohitsu from Shimizu Mokuzai is a traditional Japanese wooden container for cooked rice, made of sawara cypress grown in the Kiso region and fitted with copper hoops.

It is the smallest size in the range, holding about 1 go, or 1 Japanese rice cup, which is about one serving. It measures 14.5 x 14.5 x 9.5 cm (5.7 x 5.7 x 3.7 in), a compact size for a single diner.

The wood is left plain with no coating. Made in Japan.
