Shimizu Mokuzai Sushi Rice Mixing Tub (Hangiri) with Lid 21cm Copper Hoops

We offer this sushi rice mixing tub, known as a hangiri, handai or meshikiri, made by Shimizu Mokuzai from Kiso sawara cypress and bound with copper hoops. It comes as a set with a matching sawara lid.

This is the smallest size in the range, the traditional 7 sun tub at 21 cm (8.3 in). With the lid on, it measures about 21.7 cm (8.5 in) in outer diameter and about 10.8 cm (4.3 in) in height.

The wood is left plain with no coating. Made in Japan.
