Shimizu Mokuzai Sushi Rice Mixing Tub (Hangiri) with Lid 42cm 15 Cups

This is a sushi rice mixing tub (hangiri) made from Kiso sawara cypress and bound with copper hoops. It is 42 cm (16.5 in) across and comes as a set with a matching sawara lid.

The tub holds about 1.5 sho (15 Japanese rice cups) of rice and serves about 20 people. With the lid on, it measures approx. 42.4 cm (16.7 in) in outer diameter and approx. 14.3 cm (5.6 in) in height.

The wood is left unfinished. It is made in Japan.
