Shimomura Ajiwai Shokubo Speed Julienne Slicer ECO AEC-609

This julienne slicer is part of Shimomura Kogyo's Ajiwai Shokubo ECO series, designed with the future of the natural environment in mind. The resin body blends in plant-based biomass plastic made from molasses, a byproduct left over after sugar is extracted from sugarcane, replacing some petroleum-based plastic and helping reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

The blade is sharpened on both sides, so both the push and the pull stroke cut efficiently. It juliennes food into uniform strips about 2 mm (0.1 in) wide, and the ultra-thin blade meets little resistance, so it slices smoothly without much force. A crank-shaped blade leaves each strip with a clean, well-defined edge and a better texture. The slicer is dishwasher safe.

It measures 28 x 9.8 x 3.8 cm (11 x 3.9 x 1.5 in) and weighs about 90 g (3.2 oz / 0.20 lb). Made in Japan.
