Tanabe Kanagu Hana Copper Guinomi Sake Cup 90ml Hammered Set of 2 Matte 2792

This copper sake cup is designed to bring out the flavor of Japanese sake. Copper conducts heat quickly, so a cold drink poured in chills right away and stays that way.

The inside is lined with tin, which is said to soften and enhance the sake's flavor through an ionic effect, while a baked-on clear coating on the outside keeps the copper from discoloring over time. The surface has a hammered (tsuchime) texture, giving it a refined look and a pleasant feel in the hand. Both the inside and outside are engraved with the character for "Hana" (flower).

This matte version also has a tin coating on the outside, giving it a calm, cool silver-toned shine.

Each cup stands about 45 mm tall (1.8 in), weighs about 59 g (2.1 oz / 0.13 lb), and holds about 90 ml (3 fl oz). The set of two comes packaged in a paulownia box.
