This steaming cloth is designed for preparing mochi, the traditional Japanese rice cake. Made of Tetron fabric, it measures 70 x 70 cm (27.6 x 27.6 in), giving enough room to wrap rice or dough before it goes into the steamer.

Place the cloth inside your steamer basket, add the rice or dough, then fold the corners over to cover it completely before steaming. The cloth keeps the food from sticking directly to the steamer surface and makes it easier to lift out once cooking is finished.

This cloth is made in Japan and is sized for home kitchen steamers used to prepare mochi and similar steamed foods.
