Toyo-Sasaki Glass Edo Glass Yachiyo Kiln Sake Cup Indigo 80ml

This Edo glass sake cup is handcrafted at the Yachiyo kiln in Japan's old Shimousa region. An artisan winds thin strands of colored glass and gold leaf around clear glass, then shapes the piece by hand-blowing, creating a glossy finish that reflects the changing seasons of old Edo.

This design, a cooling sake cup, is inspired by fireflies dancing over a river at dusk on a summer evening. It carries on the traditional Edo glass craftsmanship recognized by Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.

The cup measures 8.4 x 8.4 x 5.6 cm (3.3 x 3.3 x 2.2 in) and holds about 80 ml (2.7 fl oz), weighing 110 g (3.9 oz). It comes in a dedicated gift box, making it a nice gift for a special person.
