Toyo-Sasaki Glass Yachiyo Kiln Edo Glass Moon Viewing Sake Cup

This sake cup is an Edo glass piece from the Yachiyo Kiln in the Shimousa region, part of a moon-viewing sake cup design. Each cup is handcrafted by a glassblower who winds thin colored glass rods and gold leaf into clear glass, then shapes the piece by blowing it into its final form, giving it a glossy, one-of-a-kind finish. The design is meant to express the seasonal moods of Edo-period Japan.

It holds 85 ml (2.9 fl oz) and weighs 140 g (4.9 oz). Made in Japan.
