This petite pan is a small scale version of the commercial cookware made by Wadasuke, a Japanese maker founded in 1923 that has built a name for simple, durable metal kitchenware. The 6 cm size holds about 90 ml (3 fl oz), small enough to sit in the palm of a hand while still working like a full size saucepan.

We find this size handy for melting a small amount of butter or making just enough sauce for one serving, and it can go straight from the stove to the table. The body is made of stainless steel, so it resists rust and holds up well to scratches and everyday use over time.

It measures about 14.2 x 7.9 x 4.9 cm (5.6 x 3.1 x 1.9 in) with the brass handle attached and weighs about 70 g (2.5 oz). It is made in Japan.
