This petite pan is a small scale version of the commercial cookware made by Wadasuke, a Japanese maker founded in 1923 that has built a name for simple, durable metal kitchenware. The 9 cm size holds about 280 ml (9.5 fl oz), small enough to sit in the palm of a hand while still working like a full size saucepan.

We find this size handy for melting butter or making a small batch of sauce, and it can go straight from the stove to the table for serving. The body is made of stainless steel, so it resists rust and holds up well to scratches and everyday use over time.

It measures about 19.7 x 10.9 x 6.6 cm (7.8 x 4.3 x 2.6 in) with the brass handle attached and weighs about 220 g (7.8 oz). It is made in Japan.
