This cutting board is part of the Chitose series, made from paulownia wood by craftsmen in Kamo City, Niigata, a region known for its paulownia chests. The wood has some give, so it is gentle on a knife's edge, helps keep blades from dulling as quickly, and reduces strain on the wrist during use.
It has a bean-shaped silhouette with expressive natural wood grain, making it a nice board to bring straight to the table for serving as well as for everyday cutting.
