This Tsubamesan pot set from Wahei Freiz includes a 14 cm (5.5 in) pot and a 16 cm (6.3 in) pot, a shared lid that fits both sizes, and a detachable handle. The pots and lid are stainless steel and the handle is phenolic resin, and the set works on both gas and induction (IH) cooktops.
The stainless steel pots are suited to a range of cooking such as simmered dishes, boiling, and miso soup. Attaching the handle makes the pots easier to carry, and the two pots nest inside each other for compact storage.
Tsubamesan is made in Tsubame, Niigata, an area with a long history of metalworking that grew into one of Japan's leading centers for houseware production. The 14 cm (5.51 in) pot has a capacity of 1.1 liters (1.2 qt) and weighs 400 g (14.1 oz); the 16 cm pot holds 1.6 liters (1.7 qt) and weighs 500 g (17.6 oz). The pots measure 20 x 15.5 x 7.4 cm (7.9 x 6.1 x 2.9 in) and 22 x 17.5 x 7.8 cm (8.7 x 6.9 x 3.1 in) respectively.
