The enzo line comes from Tsubame-Sanjo in Niigata, Japan's leading center for kitchenware production, a region where multiple factories work across different materials and processes rather than within a single factory.
This colander is designed with a mesh fine enough to rinse rice without losing grains through the holes, while still draining water quickly. The wire is thicker than on a typical colander for added strength, and the rim is formed by wrapping the mesh tightly around a core material for a sturdy edge.
The rim seam is finished with a smooth, special weld with no rough edges to catch on, and the legs are spot welded underneath, which makes the colander easier to clean and keeps food from touching the counter directly.
